You’re overthinking it, and 100k residents is not small coming from someone who lives in the middle of nowhere with less than a thousand people. Just go out and meet people first

I also live in a town with 100k inhabitants, actually there were only 92k at the last census, and it is not small at all. I recognize many people's faces, but I don't know anything about them and they don't know me either, so I don't care what impression they have of me. Sometimes it happens to approach a woman and after 2-3 weeks approach her again but I make a joke and it is no problem. I always use indirect/situational openers and many times if I see the woman is not interested in talking to me, I leave before she rejects me, it is not so difficult to tell when someone is not interested. That's the beauty of an indirect opener, you have a chance to start a friendly conversation and build from there if all goes well, or leave before you get rejected. And a situational opener is even better because it is always something else. Even if you talk to the same woman 2-3 times, you always say something different, she doesn't know your real intention.

It's not easy being in a smaller town. If you can build a social circle that could be a good way. Mix that with online dating could be a good combo. But, you have to be active. Its not going to happen by itself.

If you want to learn game, then find bars that get packed on the weekends. If none, then see if there is a nearby university. If you are going to go the game route, be sure you know what it entails. Usually a lot of practice, new mindsets, and regularly going out.

In general meet people, network, build a social circle, pursue personal interests, etc...

It’s not like you’re Genghis Khan who’s ready to plunder every woman you meet and change the whole modern world’s genetics landscape.
