In our house we call her Kora the worst Avatar. The series was good, but Kora was just awful. I don’t know if her disrespecting egomaniac attitude was intentional or not, but no one I know thought she was a good Avatar.

Dude, the original series and its main character is beloved by men and women of all ages. The sequel was also very well received, but most people prefer the original arc and its characters.

To be fair, Korra got lots of criticism when her character was released. Not because she was female, but because she was an entitled, abrasive brute of a character.

Learn to phase out the noise. Losers will always complain if something doesn't look the way they feel like it should. They are probably complaining because of his good character. It provides them with no excuse to shit all over him, 'because men'.

I agree. In my personal experience, I have seen the audience completely hate male characters or authors design males with contempt. In fiction, if the genre isn't horror, females are written in the archetypes of loving, compassionate, understanding, or having a tragic story meant to be sympathized with.

I love anime, and I recently started watching the biggest one, One Piece. I've noticed a pattern how the female characters are written so innocently, even when they're villains. They're written to be sympathized with or simped over by horny male fans.

I honestly can't think of an anime, known for breaking new grounds in storytelling and art, have a woman antagonist who is irredemable outside of the horror genre. Men ALWAYS must occupy the evil monster trope. Heck, even monsters themselves all have masculine voices 😂.

Outside of fiction, reality tv dating shows like Love Island, Ex on the Beach, Are you the One, etc all have fanbases that praise dump on the women and constantly villainize the men. Just read the comments under the trailers of those shows. It's very "slay queen" ish in the comments.

I like both Korra approached story in more matured way since they expect audience from Last airbender to continue watching show and you have to remember during Korra airing the demands for mature plot for cartoon was in demand , so now expect new Avatar to be more light hearted with nostalgia references thus explain why twins are both Avatars ( this haven't been confirmed yet if both twins become avatars )
