My wife and I are getting a divorce as she’s had an affair. We live in Rochester NY if that matters and have 2 children, one almost 18 and one almost 16.

She makes a small salary and I’ve always been the main breadwinner. It’s been discussed in that I’ll have to give her about $3800 a month in spousal and child support.

In a “discussion” today she blurted out that I need to find and pay for a place for her and the girls to live on top of spousal and child support. This doesn’t sound right to me. The mortgage is 2100 a month so I have to give her almost $4000 in spousal and child support and still pay the mortgage of $2100? I was going to say I’ll still pay for the house for you and the kids to live in but that $2100 a month gets pulled from the spousal and child support and you do what you will with the rest. Am I wrong?
