I was on a social event where people get together to know each other. I talked to a couple of groups and then i stopped longer with a group where there was a girl i want to hit on her. We small talked a bit and I didn’t polarize her enough but I teased her every now and then. I then asked her to go somewhere quite (outside of the bar) she resisted a bit but eventually came.

We agreed we would meet to do some sports together and then i said “maybe we can go first and grab some drinks” and she asked about my age and i am older than her (an obvious shit test) i replied with my age. And then she said “maybe no. I am quite honest and direct about that.” I said i find it good that communicated that to me. We then went back to the group and i acted cool then i had to go home so i left. I texted her as soon as i got home to sort out the sport meeting.

I have two questions:

what can i do better next time? Was it too early to make that move?

how to react in a massive social events with too many people?On one side, it is good to socialize with too many people and on the other side the conversations become so shallow.
