Most interactions are or should be fluid. They can move forward from “just friends” to lovers”, or from “coworkers” to “work wife” even to “real wife”, and the other way around can happen, too. In all my life I’ve slept with friends, neighbors, wives, coworkers, and a couple times my own bosses. Are there regrets? Yeah sure. But so far I don’t get any problems.

People sleep around more often than you thought. I remember at my old workplace years ago in the beginning of my seduction journey where one of my cute coworkers just vented out to me about her fling and said “don’t they know that everyone sleeps with everyone else here?!” And I was like “wait a minute! I didn’t get the memo! You’re absolutely wrong because I didn’t!” Turned out she was wrong and also right. She was wrong that everyone doesn’t literally mean everyone. But she was right when I found out almost everyone there had a history with someone else, regardless if it was just an ONS. But people just don’t kiss and tell. Keep it hush hush.

I would say don’t get too intimidated by the name of the settings. This is when your social skills and reading the room come in handy. Even if your end goal is to bang them, doesn’t mean that your initial interaction should be sex-themed. Just approach them like you wanna get to know them better, see if they reciprocate, see if their personality is as good as their looks.

I’ll bite here are my opinions

In a professional setting you shouldn’t do anything even close to sexual unless you’re willing to risk your job / career. I know it sucks especially if the girl is attractive and is into you but ultimately you don’t want to end up losing your main income stream for some box.

In a social scenario where you’re around friends of friends you should tread carefully but still look at people as perspective prospects for a relationship or a fling. The biggest thing here is that you may have to see the person again so it’s important to be 1000% transparent with your intentions. If you lead this person on or end up ghosting her, your friends will definitely hear about it and look at you differently. They may remain your friends but if someone comes along that you ACTUALLY want to date seriously they won’t vouch for you.

Just ask: “How do you know each other” or “did you come here with someone”, or “Do you know anybody here”?

They will tell you what type of connection they have.

So hitting on women in a somewhat professional setting requires experience, calibration, and being reasonably attractive. You want to subtly flirt with the ability to plausibly deny that you are flirting. This means being less polarizing than you would normally be when flirting, waiting for more IOI's than normal to escalate. When you do set up a future meeting though, you need to be clear that it's not for professional purposes. Wouldn't recommend it for novices, your calibration really important to protect yourself.

Nothing wrong with hitting on friends. The other commenter has good advice about how to figure out someone's relationship status without being obvious. You can flirt with someone and get rejected and have a normal platonic friendship after as loop as you don't make it weird or are too polarizing flirting with them.

I think the faster you assume you're attraction for the other person the better for both... Women don't want to go unseen , they dress look cute for attention. Going full dressed and so on and not getting not a single " wow" kinda feel like shit I guess. And for men we love to praise and give credit , so many time in professional and social event we kinda get stuck in that limbo and we stay thinking about it afterward so much. So there's a delicate balance there to respect, I guess a something along this way wouldnt hurt : you wouldnt be mad at me if I told you , you look cute or nice style ( something light) ! Or dont mind me even If I have a gf, but I needed to get this out you look outstanding ! What do you think ?
