Is it true that 20% of men get 80% of women?

Every time I try OkCupid I have no luck. It feels like women think that men on OKC are all beta and are pretty much just seeking validation. Would you agree?

Does anyone ever experience women getting mad at you when you ignore them? I generally want to not interact with anyone when working out, but some women look at me for a while (i'm sure they're into me), then they get angry (giving me facial expressions) after I ignore them. Why does this happen?

I don't really want to get married due to the risks of losing everything, but I would want to have kids some day. What should I do if I ever part with my SO and want to take care of the kids but without having the burden of taking care of mother?

Should I feel sympathy for a woman (early twenties, like me) that has a kid? About how her life is hard and she works hard at her job to make ends meet. What if she likes me? Should I look past the kid, if her life is hard, if it was a mistake she made?

Do you think most women would like a guy that acts with not much filter/instinctively/caveman-like such talking to her and letting her know she's hot and you'd bang her right away, or be indirect and show signs of you wanting to sex her up later as the conversation progresses?

Working. Killing the gazelle = bringing home the paycheck.

true. I guess $ == how many gazelles you killed.

In the dynamics of a group (usually family) it still is.

Having any purpose that is not your woman. Hunting has been that purpose for thousands of years, as you said. Now that we don't have to hunt, your primary role as a modern man, is having your number one purpose in life be anything that is not your woman.

You can't fake your purpose. If you don't have a true passion in life, you need to find one. This passion can be weight lifting, however, lifting 3 days a week for 45 minutes is no passion. I only mention this so you don't fool yourself into thinking a hobby you slightly care about is a passion. This is false.

Working on old cars, mountain biking, computers, frisbee golf, reading, or even your job. It can be literally anything that draws passion and excitement. Your woman wants to covertly know that you have something in your life that goes above and beyond her.

I see your point man, thanks for the reminder, although I do work out 3x a week for 1.5 hours each time, I feel it work great for me, in that I am always too sore to work out the next day. I wouldn't add in working out 5x a week even if it required no extra effort/time.

More like 10,000 years ago. We've been farming for a long long time. Even most Native Americans were farmers when Europeans came. Providing is still important, but similarly ensuring your offspring have a good future has been important too. Self sufficiency is not difficult, providing for others who can't is.

but the role has sort of become dismantled, women can go to the grocery store now, where is the guy's role?

[–]Mattpilf0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There's more than providing than putting food on the table. Grocery store isn't free. Quality food isn't cheap. Quality Housing and education isn't free. Medical care, insurance, life insurance in case you die, long term disability insurance in case you get injured, end of life care, rainy day events, cars aren't free, technology isn't free. Making sure your children don't go down the wrong path take work too, and generally extremely difficult to do by one person. There's still a shit ton of things to provide, even if a women works, theres often not enough to cover all these.

i agree with that.

but i feel there are women that are really pushing the independence idea, to prove a point. that they are reliant and dont need a man. I too am financially stable, it gets kind of annoying.

The modern equivalent is working/career and providing for your family. I never felt more like a man than when I got paid and the wife would go out and buy whatever she and the kids needed in terms of food, clothes, etc.
