You'd find that most of those people who make it their lives don't actually feel good about themselves either. The exciting lifestyle that they flex is mostly just coping and vying for attention from others. I think that's mostly the point too. They want to make you jealous. They want to make you feel self-conscious and insecure about yourself because they don't have enough self esteem and confidence to develop a likable personality outside of the club.

Not all people in the club are like that though. Overall in that setting, people are really attracted to good energy and vibes. Hard to explain, but it happens naturally once you're a few drinks in where most of your (and other people's ) inhibitions and reservations sort of go away for the night. You go with a couple friends and have fun. Dance your favorite song, have a drink, and enjoy yourself. The rest will follow.

Also, I think you should unfollow and block that guy from IG. And try to fix your IG feed because the algorithm is just feeding you more content like that and it's bringing you down.

Social media is not reality. But that said, I get what you mean. As a non-white man who doesn’t look like a Hollywood actor, it can feel occasionally unsatisfying to not be part of the high status strata of society.

But there’s more than one way to gain status. One way is to impress people with your intelligence by writing gripping blogs for example. Another is to acquire an interesting personality, though that’s a bit harder. Or improving physical fitness. Don’t let your looks (or lack of) get in the way. Good luck

Lots of hot celebrities have been dumped….its really not just about looks.

So hit the gym, take up boxing, whatever sport, beach volleyball even. Get a hairstyle that matches your face, learn some attractive skills… how to cook and select a good bottle of wine.. whatever. The options are endless. Find a dress style that’s cool that fits your personality.

You can level yourself up so much and build your personality. The only thing in your way is you.

How bad do you want it, is the only question.

You can get a glow up from a salon, or not.

Work on your personality.

Learn what you really want, and then learn how to express it. This is not easy, but it makes things easier.

Learn about yourself. That's important in finding a partner.

Look so I had a tall skinny friend whose feelings I hurt, I called him lanky, and I was surprised by the fact that he could have body image issues or what have you. I’m fat, and I thought that was a fat thing. What happened in that instance is that I realized everyone is going through it at least once in a while. But anyways, he’s a smart guy, cool hang, good listener, doesn’t talk much, certainly not charismatic but very kind, what can I say he’s a good guy but he doesn’t have it all, no one does. I talk about anything and everything with everyone, good thing he’s a good listener, he became an engineer and I became a doctor.

To elaborate further, I had to learn how to listen, and I’ve gotten very good at it, and it’s probably my favorite thing, that is to make someone feel like someone else heard what they had to say. My biggest struggle in life probably is the sense that I am not well understood. Not in the brooding sort of existential way, but my brain works different enough than most people that my internal experience is not particularly common. I have an exceptional memory and I get distracted by random bits of conversations and information that I haven’t really integrated into my everyday well of knowledge. In the practice of medicine this useful because oddball cases come to mind when a similar situation presents itself. I can tell you that I’ve had two patients with Typhlitis. I particularly remember conversations or notable things I read often with the location and people with whom I was exposed to that information.

Anyways… He was going through a hard time, girlfriend trouble and basically there was a funny vibe so I just shut up and let him talk. He was looking at a small cactus that reminded him of her, actually. Which is hilarious in retrospect. But yeah I just heard him out and we cried a bit, drove around, listened to Bon Iver.

So where this might fall in a broader context, or perhaps a good way to contextualize this in a familiar way, people, let’s say made in the image of God, like God, are a mystery to be experienced not a problem to be solved. You can look into someone’s eyes and you’ll never understand them 100%, but you can certainly be there and be present and have what amounts to a taste of the divine vis a vis a little bit of empathy.

I suppose developing some capacity to be good listener will certainly be a positive development personality wise.🤷‍♂️
