In Washington State a father who does not see his child ever pays the same amount in child support (relative to his income) as the father who sees his child 49% of the time. Does this seem fair to you?

Child support should be ended period if you don't have the kid with you. Let the other parent pay it. Woman aren't exactly dependent anymore

Took me a sec to understand what you were getting at. If I was paying child support but still also paying for ~50% of my child’s needs then ya that’s not right.

Child support should be pro rata based on custody. So a parent who has the child 50% of the time and therefore pays for 50% of the child's life... should pay zero to the other parent!

No. Any form of child support under the current system is inherently not fair since neither of those father's has any assurance that even a cent of what he is giving to the other parent is supporting his child rather than her covering the child's bare necessities through other support and pocketing the money he would want to use on his kid for herself.

Both should have equal financial responsibility directly toward their child as their child's mother, not be held responsible to support the mother. Having the kid for more time does not necessarily mean they are providing more for the kid. A parent with primary custody who is receiving support payments can still be leaving nearly all the kid's expenses that aren't covered by other support for the other parent and just pocketing the "child" support. Custody should default as 50/50 requiring either voluntary surrender of custody time or proof of abuse/neglect toward the kid to alter it, and not be connected to financial support, anything spent on added expenses they wouldn't have without the kid during their custody time should count toward their part of the financial support for the kid.
