Hey everyone, I just wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me for years.i am from India and schools here are sexist towards boys .Back in school, we boys were often punished way more harshly than the girls—for doing the exact same things, sometimes we got beaten for their mischiefs. While girls got away with just a scolding, we were beaten with sticks or slapped. I personally was slapped in sixth grade by a teacher just because I didn’t do my homework, and it left me with tinnitus that still hasn’t gone away. No apology. No accountability. Just "suck it up, you're a boy."

We were made to skip recess for no reason, and when we questioned it, teachers would say things like, "You don't get periods, so it’s not an emergency for you." If we showed pain or emotion, we were told to man up. Some teachers even went as far as saying boys are naturally less intelligent than girls. Seriously?

Teaches are mostly females , and while that’s not a problem in itself, the bias is very real. Teachers would favor girls not just in how they treated them, but also in grading. If a girl did something wrong, she was "advised." If a boy did the same thing, Immediate punishment. No questions asked. I have never experienced this biases or physical punishments from male teachers.

And don’t even get me started on the one-sided morality lectures. We were made to take oaths to never hurt a girl , I get the intention—but the girls were never told anything like that about us. It's like we were automatically seen as the potential problem, even though they have seen boys get bullied and hurt by girls, and nobody cared. One time a high school girl kicked a guy with full force in the groin just because her friend group didn't like him ,the guy fainted and was sent to home ,they enquired the students in vicinity to find out what the boy did for the girl to retaliate like that .but nobody did anything to the girl even after found guilty, she just got a 1 hour lecture.

We were often made to kneel infront of the whole class for not finishing assignments or scoring bad in a test but the girls were never told to do the same , they would all just laugh at us . all the boys were made to kneel for one boy's mistakes and they would often throw the phrase "Keep your fellow classmates accountable" but they never did this to the girls , when a girl did something wrong suddenly it's an individual's mistake.

The female teachers or female students would often "infiltrate" boys' changing rooms casually and sometimes we were told to change in hallways because "you all are boys" , as if we don't have dignity . This wouldn't be taken lightly if it was a girls' room being infiltrated by a male teacher .

The boys dorms are under 24/7 surveillance including the changing rooms . They say this is to protect the students and ensure their safety but there is not a single camera in girls hostel . I made a complaint to the authority regarding this issue of our privacy being violated , they replied with a stupid argument of boys causing trouble and using drugs in dorms.

This kind of stuff messed with my head when I was growing up. It made me feel like I was guilty just for being a boy. Almost All indian schools are like this and this issue is often brushed off with "boys are naturally aggressive so they needs to be punished to keep them in lane". I thought this should be addressed .
