If it's a friend you wouldn't want to lose, then don't make advances. But flirting in general, keep it to in person or over the phone at a minimum. Texting is too dry and impersonal.

First off, is it a friend you actually like or are you just playing? this is important because you are at risk of blowing the friendship, wether she rejects you or not. So if you actually care about the friendship, don't do it unless you are serious about her.

About flirting through text, given that she's already your friend, I think the most effective tool you can use is talk to her about your future date. Asking her about the food she likes or talking to a place you wanted to go and ask her to go with you, that kind of stuff. If you never go out 1 on 1 with her, showing interest on that will let her know that you are trying to be more intimate with her in a non creepy way. In the same way, if she's down, then she's probably interested too.

There is no different way there, just adjusting to this limited channel of communication. You can still trigger girl’s imagination and spectrum of emotions, play with words and interval between responses, stay playful and laidback but also within your desired context of escalating connection and intimacy. It’s similar to standard conversation, but with texting you can manage your time more freely, on the other hand you can only use letters and emojis to introduce proper atmosphere and emotions. If you have no problem with real life interactions, I guess you need to work on squeezing more quality over quantity with texting to provide same value in this shorter, sharper exchange.

Ask ChatGPT to help you with responses. You want to flirt and tease but remember the goal is ultimately to get a date. Once the date is secured, there is little reason to keep texting them. You can only mess things up from there.
