Have you tried the 5 second rule? It might also help to have 3 types of openers in your toolkit depending on your mood or how hot/initiating she is: direct, observational, and situational. There are plenty of others, but imo these are the most flexible and natural.

The workhorse opener that never lets me down: “Hey, you look like X”. X can be funny, sincere, or just observational - you just read her vibe and go with your gut. Is she wearing sweatpants and crocs? “Hey - you look like you’re having the most chill day ever.” Is she wearing summer clothes? “Hey - you look like the definition of summer vibes.” Is she checking out board games at the local Target? “Hey - you look like you’re into playing power games”. The possibilities and the adaptability is endless.

I’m assuming you’re leading with the pickup lines you mentioned. The problem is those don’t spike emotion. You’re putting her in a situation where she needs to make a decision about you on the spot: do I like this guy or not? If you haven’t spiked her emotion, she literally had nothing to engage with, so it generally won’t get anywhere.

- you've got to be sure of yourself and understand it's not a big deal to just talk to someone

- say something situationally observant, notice her style or something happening around you, or notice her confidence and tell her that it's weird but you got attracted to her confidence, then ask her how she got to this point in life where she can smile like that. Just be normal and keep the conversation going at first. Stop trying to get with somebody. Cold approach is done to introduce yourself, not marry.

Do warmups, they helped me a lot. You want to do a hell of a lot more warmups in fact.

Usually I would do 15 warmups. Simply ask strangers for directions to some place nearby (asking for the time doesn't work in this day and age). That gets you warmed up, so by the time you actually approach, you feel so used to approaching strangers and talking to them, this is the next step in the evolution of it
