Saw this in the feed of an actress I follow on Instagram who was part of a panel at a recent film event with a program about female filmmakers called Through Her Lens. So in the name of keeping things equal and fair for all, is there also a "Through His Lens" program about male filmmakers and also amplifying male voices? There's many male filmmakers who also struggle to get films made and it's a dream for them to be directors with successful careers and contrary to the popular narrative, men don't always have it easy and in fact have to struggle and work hard like everyone else. I bet there sadly isn't anything equivalent and if we bring it up it'll be the usual misandrist rebuttals of "Men already have their voices amplified" and "Then start your own program for men but quit derailing our's." Ugh. I hate this kind of divisive and exclusionary garbage so much. Sorry but what does being female or male for that matter have anything to do with being a filmmaker? Last I checked, gender never equates to talent or competancy.
