When it comes to such false allegations, people often focus on the false accuser and how they almost never face any consequences for their action. This is fair, but it misses what I believe is a huge part the problem:

Sports leagues, employers, government agencies, schools, etc., are treating men as if guilty based on an unproven accusation alone: they are throwing out the concept of a presumption of innocence and instead presuming guilt, often shattering careers, relationships, etc., in the process.

We not only need to hold false accusers accountable, but need to do the same with those who punish innocent men based on such false accusations.

This is the most comprehensive video I have seen on this case. I did not know about the cell videos in which the woman consented. That seems like a big piece of evidence that many news outlets left out in their reporting. The fact that the Canadian court even moved forward with charging these guys, in spite of that evidence, is insane.

Those 5 lives are ruined. Some of them will not get to play professional hockey again, and the ones that do will have to live the stigma of being associated with the "Canada Hockey Five". I read earlier today that the Vegas Golden Knights revoked a media credential of a journalist who asked a coach about the prospect of the team signing one of those players. The league still considers them a hot potato.

This is a great video. She did LIE!! Even the judge said she was incredible and unreliable. She is a disgrace to actual sexual assault victims everywhere. I hope she sees accountability for these actions and hope all these boys sign with nhl teams again
