It feels like two things are being mixed together here.

On one hand, boys absolutely shouldn’t be demonized just for existing. Teaching girls to automatically fear boys doesn’t help anyone — it just creates division and mistrust instead of respect and understanding. Compliments, kindness, and normal interactions shouldn’t be treated like crimes.

On the other hand, it’s also true that schools are trying (clumsily, sometimes) to address issues like harassment and boundaries. The problem is when those lessons get oversimplified into “boys bad, girls victims,” which is unfair and harmful to everyone.

The real answer isn’t teaching fear — it’s teaching mutual respect and consent. Girls should feel safe. Boys should feel valued, not shamed. And everyone should learn that boundaries go both ways.
