So basically everybody starts with 5-10 calibration dates, after them you are placed in your league depending on your results and leagues of people you dated. Then when you date enough people in your league sucessfully you get a promotion date, if you don't screw it up you get promotion. When you struggle with dating for a while you can be demoted. The hardest league to climb up is "average lonely man" league. Also unfortunately "casual dating" also affects your dating mmr, I know, it is confusing from the name.

I typically see leagues as a combination of social class, status, what kinda job you have if any, health, etc, and how close or far you are from the societal beauty standards. There are additional things to take into consideration as well, but those are the major ones, imo. Unless I forgot something important. It's based on what aspects are generally valued or not in society as a whole.

I don't think any particular person decided these leagues, or the qualifiers for each league. A lot of individual people (hundreds, thousands, millions) collectively reached these conclusions by time and time again favoring wealth, high social status, high income job titles, physical indicators of great health, and certain aesthetic features, in their ideal partners, making dating way easier for those who fit these standards than for those who don't. A lot of it also comes from past centuries when dating within your class was more strictly enforced, and it was only the rich elite who could afford to set beauty standards, etc. This, at least partially, carried over from generation to generation.

In short, I could just say: we made these standards and categories. You, me, our ancestors, everyone. That a rare few people date outside of their own classifications doesn't disprove the system. Otherwise, we wouldn't recognize that they are odd looking couples.
