Everyone hates the idea of dating apps. It's still the number one way people meet. At your age, though, you have more ways to meet in person than you ever will. Apps would probably be better saved for a few years from now.

In the meantime, are you part of a youth group or small group at church? Do you go to school? If so, there should be groups you can join that align with your values, whether they be political or religious or even hobbyist groups. You mention the gym, so how about some kind of intramural sport, like pickle ball or disc golf? You should focus on gender neutral or even traditionally masculine activities that you actually enjoy. Always be cute and approachable. The worst that will happen is that you'll be doing something you enjoy.

I will say, don't completely write off dating apps. You may have to slog through the slop, but I met my fiance who is an amazing traditional man with a desire to provide for me and our family on Hinge.

Of course, we matched during the pandemic, so that could have played a factor of more quality man on the app, but I know a friend who also met her now husband (that homesteads with her and supports her) through Tinder (of all places!).

I understand the desire to meet organically, but it's like the parable for the man drowning and God sending boats. Not sure if you're familiar with that one.

I was your age in the 00's, back then people met through work, hobbies but a lot met through their friend groups and university.

One lady who is used to nanny for met her husband on a blind date set up by mutual friends.

I met my husband through our friend groups 😊 it's the best way in my opinion to meet like this and I'm really glad women in their 20's are becoming interested in it again, the man is already 'vetted' as good partner material as you've been at least acquaintances before dating or your friends have gotten to know them and feel theyd be a good fit with you.

Full text: Hi everybody, I really want to start dating but don't know where to start. I'm a 21 year old female who has traditional, old school values, and I am also a Christian. I would love to start dating, but the problem is I really would prefer to not download dating apps, as I've heard it's hard to find a good match on them and most people are just concerned with casual hookups.

I want a long term, serious relationship. Any advice? I don't really go out to bars, I'm more of a hiking, antique store, shopping, gym type of girl. I also do not do clubs or anything like that where I'd meet people.
