Last night I went out with a new wingman I met through work. At work everyone loves him. He's very funny. He's kinda confident and has 'charisma' etc. Bit of a cheeky swag to him. I know he has a very hot ex girlfriend too.

I was really interested to see how his cold approach would work. He's not 'ugly' but I don't think he's objectively handsome either. Average at best.

So, what I noticed was that he got lots of very good reactions (as well as some girls just flat out ignoring him/being kinda rude, especially if they were like 18. He's well in his 30's)

One set that stands out is He opened this group of 3 hot young girls with a comment on something he overheard one of them say to her friend about how she'll probably get murdered and he made it into an open about it's halloween and she totally looks like the kind of girl who dies first in the movies. They all cracked up laughing and then he started engaging them in convo and it was like they all knew each other. I was thinking 'he looks like he's about to have a fouresome!' But what I noticed was that despite his 'game'/confidence (and the fact that tehy clearly all thought he was confident and funny etc etc) the girl he was after wasn't interested. She was single. Very hot. But rejected any attempts he made to flirt with her

It kinda confirms for me the whole 'looks get your foot in the door' thing. 'Game' can make her think you are confident (most coaches literally say that 'game' techniques are built on things that 'confident men do and say') but if you're not her type, then it won't help you actually hook up with her. I think a much better looking guy with a quarter of his 'game' would have got that girl
