My stbxw left a few weeks ago.

I was an absolute wreck and would crumble and sob at least once a day. Nights alone would be full of overthinking all of the variables. Realizing how thought out her exit was. That she was pushing to jump right into mediation, that she wouldn’t even come back to get her things for weeks at a time. Everyone in my support system said that there’s no way she would ever betray me. But the next time I saw her I told her that there’s more than one way I can find out and that if she lied to me proceedings would get far worse. And so she confirmed my suspicion.

It’s odd. The emotional suffering was intense up until that moment. A switch flipped. She’s no longer the woman I married. And I do not feel anything for this new person. It’s still sad that I no longer “my person” in my life but it’s far less painful. The next therapy session is this week and will be much different than I anticipated.

Sorry to reinforce the jaded mindset so many of us have been dealt. But I’m thankful for how supportive this community is 🫶
