Let me preface this post with saying, that having good conversational skills is a must. This isn't an excuse to be lazy.
I've seen many post asking how to text women, or how to talk with them. Many men are complaining that women's responses are short, they don't ask questions back or they are always "busy" when asking for a date or hangout. Typical answer is to work on your conversational skills, to better lead the conversation and so on. Basically, if you aren't getting results you want, it's your fault.
For a long time I was in this camp as well, which paradoxically lead me to worse results. When she wasn't reciprocing, I've fallen into overthinking and that lead to more ridiculous and unorganic conversation. Advice like don't ask questions, be descriptive, give her something to actually respond to are all good advice, don't get me wrong, but they are operating on an assumption that woman you are talking to is a good conversationalist too. It's also a good advice for someone who doesn't know how to lead a conversation and relies too much on "interview mode"
That isn't a case. Recently I've been noticing that most women are horrible at actually talking to you. They answer with lowest effort possible, aren't curious, miss the beats of conversation and yes....they don't ask questions back. It's a very "entertain me" mindset.
Why would you continue talking to someone, who ignores half of what you say, or only talks to you when she can talk about herself? That conversation alone falls sooner or later into either interview or light simping.
To be good at conversations doesn't mean only to know how to keep the convo going, but also when to leave the convo to protect your own energy.
If you joke around, have a good time and you mention a date, yet she completely ignores it, it's time to stop the conversation. What more can you say? It stops being an conversation and starts to be a performance to show her you have the wit or humor to entertain her on a date.
If she doesn't ask you a question back, but gives you an answer with a substance, it's good, but keep in mind, that even if you keep this up, natural momentum at one point fades away. It's still one sided, because you are giving her energy of a reaction to her interests, worldview, anything, but she isn't giving you back the energy of her reacting to your interests.
Most men try to develop routines or various techniques to keep her interest alive, because they usually have only one woman they talk to. But realistically there isn't going to be any "great awakening" when she switches and becomes more invested, only you finding out that this conversation isn't really all that fun for you.
So basically, you need to know how good conversation looks like and instead of trying to force the good conversation, find ones that are good.
