People hate the dreadful feeling before approaching. For those very moments, it might even feel like your entire existence depends on the outcome of this approach.

All seasoned players know, that in reality, this feeling is fleeting and outright false. There is no real stake in the approach except of a few seconds of discomfort. On the other hand, the potential upside is massive: a new girlfriend, a new lay, a date, a kiss.

However, despite this, Approach Anxiety persists and it is notoriously difficult to deal with among beginners. This has led to the opinion that in order to beat AA, we need to destroy it, never feel the emotion at all!

Well, this is false, because AA is the outcome of an uncertain outcome: how is the girl going to perceive you. AA is created because the outcomes matters to you, her opinion matters on a deep unconscious level. I.e., you have stake in the interaction.

And here is the insight, by eliminating your stake in the interaction, sure, you don't feel AA, but you also don't feel reward for it! Therefore, if the approach is to matter, AA is structural! It won't get away, the point is to deal with it post-approach, not pre-approach!
