I am in a LTR and this girl is really into me. She is a couple years older than me and she has basically hit the wall during the three years we have been together.

Her biological clock is ticking badly and I am feeling the pressure to have kids. She is in an intense school situation where she would only be able to take minimal time off to have probably one kid. It seems the main care taking responsibilities would fall to me. I have absolutely no desire to have children and I never have. But I have recently told her that I want to have kids with her.

Because she is not particularly attractive, has social issues, and is essentially post-wall; I believe she would have a very hard time finding anyone else. She frequently says things like, "I just want to have a happy life with a family with you" and "I'm only happy when I'm spending time with you. I don't care what we're doing."

I haven't come across a post here where a guy is reluctant to make a girl feel bad. Most are: how do I get this girl?, where do I stand with this girl?, my girl dumped me, etc… I think it would devastate her if I broke up with her, but I don't feel ready for what she needs right now.

I guess I'm just wondering if my deep concern for her feelings is this "love" thing everyone talks about.

Also, at times I have felt that she knows what she wants, but I can't figure that out for myself. If I can give her what she wants and it will make her happy, maybe I should just do that. At least one of us will be happy then.
