I understand why they wanted to get rid of "previous sexual activity" cross-examination in rape cases, but this pendulum has swung way too far.
Failing to enquire as to whether she's had previous false/unproven rape accusations directly led to these men's lives being trashed. This isn't justice or investigation at all. The police owe them an apology at the very least.

4 years for a women who destroyed the lives of 10 men permanently. And the police have gall to “compliment” the men for being so “patient” then tells other women to “come forward regardless”. Useless bastards.

So rare that BBC covers these cases. Normally if you find such a report in another paper, guaranteed you won't find it in BBC or the Guardian. I think it's standard editorial policy not to cover these things
