A guy in my hall (student housing) is trying to steal from me. I lent him a book he didnt care to buy, which I bought the year before him (we're doing the same degree, but I'm one year ahead of him). This was about a year ago, and I tried getting the book back from him today, which he claimed he bought himself. He was nice enough to borrow me my book. Thats when I found out he had written his name in the book right before he gave it to me, because the ink tarnished when i rubbed my finger on it, implying it was just put on, as it stays the same when I rub my finger on it now. I also found a date on the book's price tag, proving i bought it in 2012, a year before he even came here.

My question is, what is the best way to confront him? He is a major dick and shows dark triad traits. He has always gotten on my nerve but now I'm super pissed. I want to avoid it getting physical, as we're both pretty aggressive and I'm not sure how he'll respond when i confront him with the facts. I do want to put him in his place though.
