For anyone following, youre aware of the affairs my wife had and how she moved out.
Well, she really did a number on the house. No damage but she left trash everywhere. And she took a lot of items, way more then what we agreed on. Items that could have been split, that is needed to live. Plates... pans... pots... utensils.. just to name a few.
I documented and kept my mouth shut. Im not going to reach out about petty items, but it does show the type of person she is. We havent texted since Wednesday and that calm from her... is what I need.
She took zero pictures of our son and his baby stuff. From his book, foot prints, first haircut hair.... all left behind. She could snag the air frier... but important items about her son was left behind.
I took all those items about my son and made a box for him, and also put some family pictures and all our wedding photos in there. They mean little to me but i told him these will mean something to him one day. He was appreciative.
But the hardest part. The dumpster showed up and we started trashing items. So many items, that had sentimental value of our former marriage, thrown away. They didnt have any value so not worth selling... but not worth holding onto.
Vacation items, his and her items we bought throughout the years. Even our matching Disney luggage set. Glasses we got when we went to wineries. Christmas decorations we made together. I could go on.
Throwing away my previous life, with my sons help was hard.
I wasnt sad about her. Im glad its over. I feel free. But regardless, it was emotional in so many ways. The purge felt like a rebirth... but with that comes the feelings of death.
I was getting mad that she left me with so much garbage to deal with... but its poetic. Because that was our marriage. She always left me to pick it up by myself. Money. Responsibilities. Cleaning. Parenting. So, it was fitting that I was there with my son to do this again. Ill be the one selling the house while she lives her life. Ill be dealing with the stress making sure our son is ok... but... it was always like that. Ive realized that yes my life is changing but so much is staying the same.
This wasnt her being cruel. This is her... being her.
