Is feminism secretly a positive for men? Hear me out. This is not in regard to traditional & conservative men. For most of human history men have been forced to be fathers, providers & protecters through physical violence, shame or other manipulation. But now men are freed from that responsibility

Men almost always could do almost anything they wanted to. You make it sound like men already weren't "spending money how ever they want to", or sleeping with whatever number of women they want (or can get). Men have free will - as much as virtually anyone else - but they also live within constraints.

One of those constraints is conscription. Look at some handful of nations that, recently, restricted specifically men's movement away from areas they think may turn into war zones. Feminism has done little, if anything, to "help men" in this regard; and more often than not encourages that men should stay and fight, while affording special privilege to women's freedom to flee.

Which is where it turns "how backwards is this really; of course people should be allowed to flee a fkn warzone". Feminism won't/can't argue "positive for men" as long as it maintains it's ideological "special privilege for women" mentality, about virtually everything.

If this “theory” helps you sleep soundly at night - go for it.

However- the feminists are not the ones “supporting” this. Feminists fought for the right to be able to work, be seen as something other than baby makers and other rights.

No self respecting feminist is waiting for a man to provide for her, open a door, or stop him from stepping up into manly things like child rearing and housework. This SHOULD be the advantage of a more equal landscape. In a relationship two people can work, or negotiate more equitable family time, two people can step away from pre-conceived “roles”, and with 2 incomes there should be $$ to pay for extras (but cost of living shit), and with more liberation of sexuality, you should be able to without shame, fill your drawers with sex toys, chance upon a sex club and with the joys of the internet learn new techniques in bed that will never make your partner leave.

If it isnt working out for you this way… maybe its time to adapt. According to online - few view men as protectors ( I never have - feminist or not), men seem to have been able to step away from fatherhood if wanted ( throwing money in lieu of parenting isn’t fatherhood) and providers- make a better choice and find a well funded and employed woman (isn’t that what is said to all the women?)

All of that being said… many women aren’t chasing men down, they are choosing their cats, satisfyer pros, and steamy books.

Some of us, actually choose partners (if we choose) on shared values, interests, kindnesses, considerations, and mutual sexual gratification- all of which are free, and not hinging on who opens a door, pays a bill, or manipulation.
