tl;dr met a girl from my old neighbourhood who'd heard of my family and got instant brownie points.

So I go out around 8pm to a certain wine bar nearby. Last week, I found myself seated next to a girl from my home country , so of course, we proceeded to establish hierarchy. She gave me her name and recommended a glass of wine and insisted on pouring me a glass from the bottle she'd purchased. After we played this game whereby I insisted on buying a glass on my own and she said she'd pour one from the bottle she'd purchased, she poured me a glass of a decent wine from the ancient world (in this case, it was Armenian wine -- her surname was Armenian and it's a mid-quality red wine).

We talked, hugged, bit of flirting. She said her boyfriend lived a 2 hour flight away and they'd been together a few years, being long- distance all the while. I don't think I mentioned my relationship status. She works near where I live, so when we left, I offered to walk her back to her workplace and she accepted. We had some more mild flirting on the way back.

Said she'd grown up in the Middle East and went to a posh school in Beirut. She's 25, as is my cousin, so I asked her if they were batchmates. She said they were and a look of respect occupied her face.

It gave me the impression that the boyfriend was a myth and didn't exist. This, to me, is a red flag, because I insist on integrity in everything I do. Anyone else and recommendations on whether I should have pursued or was I correct in nexting her? Many thanks, gents!
