You aren't important. And the world doesn't care about you.

You think fucking up a direct approach is going to be awkward because it's going to be some sitcom where every interaction forever is going to be about what mattered TO YOU. That every time you talk to her, she and and her friends are going to be thinking abiut that time you hit on her, and there's a laugh track.

The reality is, if you are plain, simple, direct and not a creep about it, she will forget it in a week. You don't matter that much.

Don't make it some grand gesture. Don't make it an event that stops the nation. Just tell her you want her to come join you doing some obvious but not obvious thing. If she accepts, escalate there. If not, move on.

Plan 2 is not a plan. It is the absence of one. It is the "I don't know what to do, so I'll pussy foot around the issue and hope someone makes it happen for me" plan.

Doing that WILL make it increasingly awkward over time as it becomes more and more apparent you've put your testicles in her handbag but tried to hide it from her.
