This may or not may not help you with this scenario, but I'll try to explain it how a much older and wiser man explained it to me. Many men already know this, but the vast majority do not.

The fact is that almost all women want sex. However, most of those women need an "excuse" to have it. By excuse, I don't mean something like the cable is out and you're bored, I mean they need to think it was THEIR idea to have sex, not yours. Even though they are most likely a filthy dirty whore, they need to be made to believe they are the opposite, whether it's true or not. The exact phrase goes "All women are whores, the trick is making them think they aren't."

So to simply it, unless you're a muscle packing 6'5" alpha of a man, you have to make it seem like sleeping with you won't make them appear to be a slut to their friends (and most importantly, themselves).

So to double tap on what others have said, just pretend you don't know, but will know when you see it. Being honest isn't going to workout for you, because a women will NEVER be completely honest with herself, so how can she be honest with you?

The idea is that you are the boss and control the interaction with sufficient humour and skill, so that it comes across as fun.

In the case of this interaction, you seem to feel that you are put on the spot.

What is going through your mind is that the questions are a trap and maybe they are for some people.
