I would like to assume that the ticket prices are set to fill the seats. But here in the US, womens tennis gets more general coverage than mens. So the women's would cost more. Laws of demand and supply and what not. So I'm not sure why the tickets would cost less.

I think the point he failed to make there was that the women can compete in multiple events, therefore a given opportunity to earn more overall. Where the men only get the chance to participate in a single event.

The term positive discrimination, I feel is a little oxymoronic. Just call it what it is, discrimination against men. If a man and woman are equally qualified for a job, the woman shouldn't get the position by default. That's like getting the job because you're white, or black.

And to set a requirement that 40% of a board (or committee) must be women is to say "we don't care about qualifications. Because being a woman is worth more than qualifications."
