I am a 21 year old male and my female cousin and her 2 older friends came over to hang out the other day. We got into the discussion of if a man should ever hit a woman. I told them a person hitting a person is not ok and blah blah. They started getting mad and in my face for saying I would defend myself if I was continuously being assaulted by a woman. I feel that no matter what size or gender you are, if you are attacking me without restraint from previous attempts (repeating stop and pushing away etc...) I have the right to defend myself. The one guy that was friends with my cousin got really angry and almost punched me out because I feel this way. I am not willing to allow myself to be assaulted just because I should be held to a higher standard because I should be chivalrous.

Am I in the wrong here?
