I understand your stance and don’t agree with the shame as well. I think an issue is often men say they will protect their women no matter what. I don’t believe that’s realistic for anyone to say/promise. Unless you have experience you have no way of knowing how you’ll react in a life of death situation. I often think people over estimate their abilities in a life of death situation. As you said everyone has feelings and emotions and to assume everyone (in this case men and husbands) would lose their life for another, even a family member that’s not realistic.
