Hung out with this person and mentioned I want to focus on my career and work on myself and I’m not focused on a dating/romance.

During a conversation, I asked them what places I recommend taking a person who wants Italian food. I was vague about saying who the person is because that’s how I always refer to people my friends don’t know as and I wanted to keep a bit of that information private.

When I told them that it was my mom. They said that ooh they thought there was some boy I was trying to impress. I reiterate to them once again that I wasn’t looking for anything with anyone.

Maybe I didn’t stressed that enough on the first time we hung out together but I’m a bit annoyed.
