So today I worked up the courage to approach a girl who works at a supermarket near me. We see each other often, but this was the first time I actually went up to her.

After that, I asked for her number. She got even more nervous, started smiling, and said, “Just give me one minute, I’ll come back.” I wasn’t sure if she was overwhelmed or excited. She walked away for a moment and then came back smiling again.

I opened the dial pad on my phone and showed it to her. She hesitated, thought for a bit, and then said, “The phone number… I can’t.” I asked why, but before she could really explain, one of her coworkers came over and asked her for help. She quickly said bye to me and went with him. After that, I left too.

Now I’m just confused about what happened. Was that a no? A maybe? She didn’t really explain, and I’m not sure how to read the situation.
