Since you're an adult there is no max age, however, it might raise eyebrows if you're dating someone that's well into their 30s.

There are no rules like that in dating, only arbitrary subjective opinions and opinions are not mandatory or obligatory or binding.

Anybody who tries to tell you a rule, remember that it’s all arbitrary and thus not binding because the only thing that matters here is the law, not someone’s judgment or their subjective opinion of correct behavior because no one has granted them the divine authority to dictate to others what is OK or not OK to do.

And it’s not your job to base your life around what society thinks, or what a particular group of people think, or even what a majority arbitrarily thinks. It’s not your job to follow any norm.

So you date who you want and stop trying to please people who don’t like it because what they like or don’t like is completely irrelevant even if they hate being reminded of their irrelevance.

Age gaps require alignment in maturity, lifestages, and lifestyle. There's a little flexibility, but you need to be close in all three for it to make sense. There's no hard and fast rule, but divide the older person's age by 2 and add 7 to it isn't a terrible baseline, though completely arbitrary.

Yes, age gaps raise eyebrows. Ask this question in the lady-centric subs and anything more than 5 minutes difference makes him an absolute demon predator. Well, unless you're the older one, then it's rah rah girl power. Ask it in the men's subs and you'll get a better variety mostly leaning towards you're adults who gives a fuck. In the real world friends and family are very likely to vocally have a problem with it, you'll get looks in public and every once in a while a Karen will step into your world cause she's old and gross and in his age range - pure jealousy.

Imho, again just my personal opinion and my perception, and what I think is normal and fine.. I would say 5 years. 28 is MAYBE okay but .. 29 and 22 .. that's when it starts looking a little strange and feels a little uncomfortable.
