Bit of a back story: My family member has been married for 2 years and dated for 8 years prior. They're both in their mid-50s.

Her husband is close to retiring and is in charge of most finances due to being the breadwinner. However, he does not show her affection or much interest yet clearly cares for her. He's often very quiet. He's a business owner and I'm sure he is capable of taking charge. She takes care of cooking, cleaning and everything domestic -- they are close to having a RP relationship without knowing what RP is.

She expects him to change by telling him she will leave him if he doesn't which obviously won't work. She wants him to start taking charge and showing more affection.

Few other points: she works out, looks great for age and has an amazing sense of humor.

--What advice would you give to someone in this situation? What could she do to improve their communication and his behavior towards her without making threats?

She's not very internet-savvy so before I give her some insight and advice on RP I was interested to hear any advice RPW may have so I can help their marriage.
