Popular culture recommendations for a feminist in name but traditional in practice

I just finished reading The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine MD. It highlights the differences between men and women in an easier to swallow pill. Everything she writes is based off her practice as a psychiatrist and she really gets into the physiology of it all when highlighting the biological differences between men and women. Even if your wife isn't interested in reading it, you could always read it to better understand her.

I'm not sure how I would present a book to her if you're hoping to plant a seed of change in her. Unfortunately, change has to come from within. Perhaps she would pick it up to read it if she saw it laying around, but that may come off as passive aggressive.

In name she still thinks she is a feminist and it's gonna take a while for her to let go of that fake pride in "women power" or whatever you would call it.

pride in "women power" that's called female chauvinism or misandry. You did not vet very well, but now are at least recovering from your mess.

Feminism (the normal 1st wave part anyway) and RPW are easily reconcilable. Just because there are inherent differences between the genders doesn't justify unequal representation before the law, in opportunity, or wages.

Dr. Laura might be a good option. She has a book called The Proper Care And Feeding of Husbands, but if you think she'll have a knee-jerk reaction to the title (WHY JUST HUSBANDS???) kind of thing you could try The Proper Care And Feeding Of Marriage. The trick to getting her to read it? You read it. Just leave it on your bedside table, I guarantee you she'll read it.

How about the BBC's remake Shakespeare's "How to Tame a Shrew"?It's a pretty humourous movie about a man falling for a bitchy woman politician and all the schinanigans he uses to get her to drop the attitude. None of the characters identify as feminists or overtly display feminist leanings exept towards the end when one couple is arguing about signing a prenup. I think it's pretty safe feminist-wise, and it has a nice message about couples needing to be agreeable and accepting of one another.
