You could honestly just post LTR articles/advice/questions. Seriously, try it.

There's no need for a seperate sub.

The red pill is about sexual strategy for men. Including short and long term relationships. Splitting it off to a new sub makes no sense, that is a core topic here.

Make threads and send me links, I'll sticky them for you.

Based on demand, it's way more needed than /r/RedPillParenting or /r/altTRP .

In the main sub, a lot of good LTR posts get lost in the noise, or get downvoted by people who choose not to be in LTRs. (and I don't blame them... it's just not relevant to everyone's interests.)

I understand what you are saying. Although, I'd say the demographics interested in each are very different. (and this shows) And sending you posts to sticky won't allow reddit to work as reddit, and it sounds like a lot of work for you.

If it's something people aren't interested in, I understand. I'm just bringing the subject up. If people in the main sub are required to see posts stickied that they aren't interested in, I can imagine that won't work out well, either.

The reason you don't see a lot of LTR game mentioned is because a lot of the guys here are anti-LTR and anti-marriage. Some guys are ready to leave at a moments notice that is to say, they'll girlfriend a girl up but they're ready to ditch her if the going gets tough. That's not really what you're looking for is it? The tone of your post is "I'm already a committed a guy, I want to know how to maintain a relationship without giving up my dignity" the fact of the matter is once you're committed as a guy, you're already compromising, you've already given up part of your power/freedom and if you're married your ability to affect dread is far less pronounced than if you are not.

LTR game is also essentially TRP and life on hard mode, many guys don't think the sacrifice required is worth it, you're having to deal with a woman "be the rock in her storm" and all that shit non-stop all the time, committing to a woman requires tremendous sacrifice, you've got to reign her in, apply some beta game so you're not a total cunt but then not being too beta, constantly calibrate, communicate, which much of is "just getting" what she wants/means (analysing her behaviours rather than her words), setting boundaries, blah blah blah, it's like learning to be a parent except it's not a kid you're dealing with, it's a woman and the onus is on you - she's your responsibility and if it fails it's YOUR FAULT, that's a lot of pressure, a hell of a lot of pressure, it's a lot to ask and women ask it with expectation and entitlement, many of them don't realise it, but when they ask a guy to commit this is essentially what they're asking, that he endure the temerity of their shortcomings whilst giving up a lot of his own freedom. It's a full-time effort.

You're so invested that if she cheats it will actually fuck with you, then you add kids into the equation and you see just how vulnerable you are without the establishment backing you up (they're backing her up instead.) A lot of guys here on TRP and perhaps from the tone of my post you can deduce myself simply can't be fucked with that which is why they say spin plates and be a bachelor, that is not to criticize your choice, personally I'm not opposed to LTRs per se (as long as you establish the LTR with a position of dominance, choose a quality woman and not just any old chick near your age, and keep marriage out of the equation), but it does explain why there is a lack of discourse and advice on LTRs here. In my honest opinion, trying to improve an already fucked marriage is not so much LTR game (which I think is preventative to begin with) as it is trying to undo a lot of blue pill bullshit that permanently stains both of your memories and thus is infinitely harder (trying to cure something that is already sick.)

I agree with you that there is demand for space and expertise on LTRs, but the expertise in that area are much less prevalent among the experiences of the men here, a lot of guys here don't want to find themselves in that situation, much less become good at maintaining that situation. The only guys who can give helpful advice on LTR game seem to be the older married guys who have settled, whilst the majority of this subreddit is of a younger and lower smv demographic that has no desire or knowledge to settle down quite yet. An even larger proportion than that are at the beginning of their TRP journey and are simply working on self improvement and don't have the smv to get an LTR, self-improvement can take years depending on your starting point in life.

The lifecycle of sexual strategy through TRP looks a little like this:

Improve smv to get laid/enjoy life > decent smv achieved, getting laid regularly and enjoying life > find a woman who is bearable and has some redeeming non-sexual qualities, attempt something serious.

Most guys are in the first stage on this subreddit. Some are in the second stage. Very few are at the final stage. The guys here at the final stage tend to have found TRP when they were married/committed already and thus were thrown in at the deep end, they didn't get to enjoy being a bachelor or working on themselves for a long time before getting serious and starting a family, they had to do all that shit whilst their woman made demands of them and their kids needed them, that situation is TRP-HARDCORE, which is why the younger you find TRP the better it is for you, finding TRP as an already married man in a dead bedroom of a marriage you have to multitask like a motherfucker, coping with all the demands and responsibilities of being a husband whilst trying to be a better, more well-rounded effective man yourself. You're not going up a hill you're trying to launch yourself into space with a fucking rocket.

/u/trudatness and /u/Archwinger are older and in LTRs so they are good people to talk to about LTR game, there are a few other users who seem to know their shit about LTRs as well, but their names escape me and you can probably count the total number of people who truly have any specialised RP knowledge within a monogamous relationship framework on this subreddit with both hands. Most guys can't give you any more specialised knowledge beyond "keep frame." because the reason they are here to begin with is they could never get an LTR or they had LTRs but they collapsed, deemed women are too much work as a full-time option and so opted for the part-time option of just fucking and chucking.

What you're looking for is essentially a male counterpart to redpillwomen, they're all trying to be wife material, you want to know how to be a good husband/partner and effectively live happily with a woman whilst most of TRP is against the idea of even being a husband to begin with. You can probably learn a lot by reading what they write there and reversing it. So they say learn to cook and dress sexy, the reverse is earn a lot of money (relative to her) and workout a lot. They say ask your man for permission, so the reverse is ask her what she thinks of the decision you're going to make, gauge her response and factor it into if you go ahead with what you were going to do. I do think as TRP becomes more mature, LTR game will become more prevalent, it's part of the evolution of the philosophy, for now, the knowledge is scarce, and a number of RPers I've spoken to have said in no uncertain times Athol is a bluepill fuck and MMSL is overrated crap for desperate husbands trying to salvage already dysfunctional marriages. Personally I have no opinion or knowledge on MMSL/Athol, it's irrelevant to me.

[–]cray-cray-cray 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The reason you don't see a lot of LTR game mentioned is because a lot of the guys here are anti-LTR and anti-marriage.

Sure, and I probably would be too at a different age.

The tone of your post is "I'm already a committed a guy, I want to know how to maintain a relationship without giving up my dignity"

I'm committed atm, yes. I've been through several LTRs, a marriage, divorce, etc. I've also spent extensive time spinning plates, although we used to call it juggling.

What you're looking for is essentially a male counterpart to redpillwomen, they're all trying to be wife material, you want to know how to be a good husband and effectively live happily with a woman whilst most of TRP is against the idea of even being a husband to begin with

Well, no. Being "good" is on my list for me, but being a "good husband" isn't on my radar. I'd advocate happiness, and that may not be "good husband," but would still fit within LTR game.

The only guys who can give helpful advice on LTR game seem to be the older married guys who have settled, whilst the majority of this subreddit is of a younger and lower smv demographic that has no desire or knowledge to settle down quite yet.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "settled." There are situations where an LTR may be optimal. It may be monogamous or only slightly so. It may be a guy who has a girl well out of his league. Might be kids involved (as you mentioned) or other reasons. As to the demographic here, you are right.

So they say learn to cook and dress sexy, the reverse is earn a lot of money and workout a lot. They say ask your man for permission, so the reverse is ask her what she thinks of the decision...

Disagree, and that is why a men's LTR sub makes sense. "Make money" and "work out a lot" applies to anyone and it's non-situational. Asking your girl what she thinks on a regular basis causes problems where she starts expecting it, feels her man has no direction, and consequently starts losing respect. Deciding what to do based on RPW is a bad idea. Most of those girls have natural alphas, and that's not the situation most people are in. In fact, part of LTR game for men may be getting your girl to make more money.

I suspect there are more, but it falls off the radar fast because as you, I, and chronmetron have alluded to, most people here simply aren't interested. However, as I said, the number of times MMSL gets referenced says there's a market for it.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Asking your girl what she thinks on a regular basis causes problems where she starts expecting it, feels her man has no direction, and consequently starts losing respect.

When I said that I was thinking in my mind that I would do whatever the fuck I liked with no regard to her and that I would have to consciously make effort to actually include her in my decision making processes, especially in more significant things, after all if you're captain/first mate you have to consult with the first mate. It's not so much asking for permission as it would be "to get her opinion" then you judge whether her opinion bears any relevance or not and go ahead with what you were going to do anyway, she might have some valid input and if she doesn't it made her feel important. Then, as you say, if you're always asking you run the risk of seeming like you never know what the fuck you're doing and you make her insecure. In a way this proves the point I was making, the whole thing is a balancing act and natural alphas fuck up a lot in LTRs, I've known naturals who slayed pussy that have no idea in LTRs because they're either too alpha or go full beta, they tend to get henpecked into betadom and then don't realise why everything is going to shit.

[–]cray-cray-cray 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I understand what you mean. Your entire post contained a lot of truth.

I was more meaning to address the concept that men's LTR game is something to be based on looking at RPW. There'd be no way to derive dread game or going outside the marriage or a number of other relevant things from looking at their sub. I'm sure many useful things can be found there, but many can't.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Female dread game (not necessarily RPW) is withdrawing sex/affection without any verbal explanation, the male equivalent is withdrawing commitment/attention.

Most of the "tales of marriage" i've seen here that have "repaired the marriage" have involved a guy who was getting none and he was miserable and his wife would open disrespect him, he started working out and being more emotionally distant, taking extra care of himself whilst feeding in less to her concerns, he would flirt with other women when he went out and realised his own options, eventually she'd notice this and then she would begin to initiate. Dread game. Dread game is a component of LTR game, the rest is all "decision making", "hold frame", "beta game" and don't go poor/get sick, basically maintain your SMV.

A lot of general TRP (push/pull for instance) can be applied to an LTR as "keeping the spark alive" you're just changing the context, instead of flirting and then withdrawing attention with the chick at the bar you're doing it with your SO.

[–]chronmetron 10 points11 points12 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree 100%. Married lurker here. I rarely comment or upvote but you sir get both. I have gained a lot from TRP. It has improved my relationship, my career, and my fitness immensely. I already knew many TRP truths innately before I got hitched, but a woman has a funny way of helping you forget those truths over the years.

It has taken considerable mental gymnastics to apply many TRP lessons to married life. I would appreciate and benefit greatly from a sub populated with individuals in similar situations. Discussing and applying TRP truths to an existing LTR is a very different game than spinning plates. Especially for the lifelong betas, getting my frame back while in a relationship has been hard enough. I can't imagine being a man trying to build my frame for the first time with a woman constantly in the picture. Finding your identity as a man when you have the identity of a wife constantly intruding is no easy feat. We should have a place to talk specifically about these topics, because if nothing else your average plate spinner couldn't care less about such posts.

I think this is an idea whose time has come. Good on ya for bringing it up and wording about it clearly. I agree wholeheartedly.

Pair bonding is a thing. It's known, it's real, it's common and humans are highly prone to it. Just fucking look around. Billions of people aren't tragically brainwashed, they're just humans. And humans will pair bond.

So it's only (un)common sense to have a mental/emotional framework that grasps the dynamics of both hypergamy and the pair bond.

Having a LTR TRP subreddit would be incredibly useful to that end.

EDIT: I overdid it with the italics. But I left one. Fuck you.

[–]Modredpillschool 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The red pill is about sexual strategy for men. Including short and long term relationships. Splitting it off to a new sub makes no sense, that is a core topic here.

Make threads and send me links, I'll sticky them for you.

[–]throwpillo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The red pill is about sexual strategy for men. Including short and long term relationships.

Yeah, but that LTR aspect is way under-represented by the traffic on this sub, hence this thread.

Splitting it off to a new sub makes no sense

To you. But not to others, hence this thread.

that is a core topic here.

ha. no. Hence this thread.

.

There's clearly some interest in an LTR TRP sub. So don't worry about it. Just mod this subreddit and let others do what they will. geez.

[–]Modredpillschool -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

My last sentence:

Make threads and send me links, I'll sticky them for you.

Because it doesn't make sense to move topics that are actually what we're here for, off the sub. Therefore I offered to help boost attention.

[–]throwpillo 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

So... on a subreddit that continually demonstrates massive momentum and interest around non-LTR sexual strategy, you want to put up stickied posts about LTRs.

That's not what I personally call "sense". But "makes sense" is always a personal matter. Many people don't know that.

Despite my interpretation of your words, I definitely see your good intent to be of service. I believe that intent is best fulfilled by, if/when the time comes, adding a sidebar link to a LTR TRP subreddit. That's gonna be loads of boosted attention.

That's all I have to say about that. Upvote for wanting LTR TRP get an attention boost, regardless of approach.

EDIT: worng word

[–]Modredpillschool -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sexual strategy is not for those who are only in short term relationships. I personally am in a LTR.

The Red Pill is not only for short term relationships exclusively. If you want to add content, feel free. If you feel that content doesn't get much attention, I'll sticky it for a while.

[–]throwpillo -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sexual strategy is not for those who are only in short term relationships.

File that under "Duh/no shit".

But TRP/sexual strategy != this particular subreddit.

This thread that you've joined is about the dynamics and demonstrated preferences of this particular subreddit... as being hugely counter-productive to ongoing discussion of LTR TRP.

You'll either get your head around that or you won't.

Good lord.

[–]TheSKSpecial 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Check out /r/Redpill_couples. Not a big group, but it does exist.

[–]cray-cray-cray 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Some good links there, but I'm thinking something more specifically for men.

[–]TheRedPirate 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Start your own sub, call it LTRedpill or something. Speak to the mods here and let them know your intentions. Ask them to list your sub on the sidebar. People looking for this type of advice will go there and share. You will get a small number of subscribers at first and it will eventually grow. You will filter out most of the immature hate that has overtaken this sub. I see married men ask for advice here once in a while, so people in your situation do exist. Build it, and they will come.

[–]My_Dog_Jax 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think that having two seperate sub groups would be a good thing. Here's why.

A group of 40+ red pill tlr's is going to be very small. They will only have the opinions of other like minded men. These men may not be as TRP as they were in their younger days, or the trials of marriage may have worn on them over the years. These men may tend to hamster or rationalize a bit more. The perspective of a young man who has fire in their belly may be beneficial.

On the flip side our older contributors can off wisdom and experience from first hand knowledge that younger folks may not have. They can help these younger generations navigate the vetting process of ltr's and give perspective on what it's like to married for years and years.

We need both sides to our coin!
