1) Stop wasting your time. Stop playing games. Make life the game you play.
2) Break free from your vices. Addiction is weakness.
3) Stop complaining. That's loser talk. Instead, solve your problems.
4) Be beholden to no one. This includes your boss, your partner(s), or family. You need to be capable of saying 'no' to anyone in your life.
5) Lift weights. Your looks matter. They indicate you are healthy and a good investment.
6) Dress better. How you present yourself affects what people think of you and how people treat you. Millions of jobs are handed out based on this stuff.
7) Your effectiveness is determined by your ability to devote yourself to what is important and achievable, and avoiding wasting time on what is not.
8) Acquire positive relationships. The people you know provide opportunities. Ditch negative relationships. Don't suffer for someone else's weaknesses.
9) Keep your social skills well exercised. Which is to say, keep improving your understanding of how people work, and how you should behave around them. The people who are worst at this won't ever recognise how much at fault they are for what happens in their lives.
10) Be aware that people are pushing a product. From advertising, historical editing, political fear-mongering, the promise of paradise after death, the offer of devotion for security - all around you there is the patterns of give and take. See it for what it is, and don't pay too much.
11) Understand that life isn't a Disney movie - that 'happily ever after' is a myth - that all people, and the lives they lead, are flawed, and fallible. (Ex. Steve Jobs the billionaire-visionary died early from treatable cancer.)
12) In some ways, on some issues, you are quite delusional. Just try for a moment to acknowledge that this is true. If you can figure out what your main delusions are, that's most of the battle done.
13) You are naturally greedy in ways you don't notice, and from time-to-time will have resented the 'unfairness' of not getting what you feel you are owed. You are owed nothing. Some people win the lottery, and some get bowel cancer. You need to resolve this on a personal level.
14) Stop fixating on trivial things.
15) Unhappiness is the gap between what you want and what you have. You have limitations unique to you. No one is physically or mentally ideal. You need to be capable of calibrating your expectations to what your limitations allow - and not based on what others around you have.
