It's interesting that the lines get closer and closer together at the higher ages meaning if you're not married by a certain age it's probably not happening. Aka the wall

Maybe I'm misunderstand what you're saying... of course they are coming together, right? About 10% of the 50 year olds made it there without ever getting married. I'm just confused about why this defines the wall?

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying there isn't a wall, I just don't think this data shows it.

If you were to get a takeaway from this graph, get what they were trying to show: that in 1999 never married rates increased steadily, and don't show any signs of slowing.

This is horrible news for society.

Well, to start a discussion, why do you think it climbed over the 14 years listed? I would say bc woman have way more choices, and men don't want to get fucked over. For woman having more choices readily available, I would love to see this plotted against cell phone sales. Or percent of PPL with cell phones. But it def starts and grows with my (not perfect) timeline for internet growth.

Well, correlation vs causation, right?

I would love to say that this is due to men opting out of marriage, but the sad truth is the majority of men, even many "red pilled" men, would marry a woman in her prime given the opportunity. Marriage was always a greater benefit for men than for women(except women over 30, but they don't think that far ahead so that is irrelevent to this discussion).

I'll be lolling my ass off when I reach 30 in 2020 and a third of 30-34 year olds will be unmarried.
