A lot of the widowing process is about idealization of the never returning partner. Chicks remember the gap that there was between themselves and their lost partners instead of the actual value they and their partners held at the time.
Then you get a fat chick that got incredibly hot widowed by a lame fucker she dated on her late teens and 20s.
Try to look at his actual value instead of the gap. Although it's the alpha traits that make women attracted, women do value some other traits, and how much they value these other traits increases with time. It should get shit solved if you can manage to do that.

Well, that might solve alpha widowing but not hypergamy on itself though.

I don't think an alpha widow needs to "recover".

First think you need to do is determine where you are. Be honest. Then determine what you want. Do you want another alpha? What type of alpha is he? What kind of woman would he date? What do you need to do to get from where you are to get to where you need to be?

Lots of women just sit around and wait for Mr. Ultra Millionaire Alpha to come and wisk them away. In reality, that man has his pick of whatever he wants and he will definitely not pick you. But there's a local guy down the street. He lifts, got his degree in engineering, has his finances in order. He's looking for a girl who looks good, is fun in bed, and is fun to be around. He needs to be your target. And he is not an easy target to hit. As men get older and they get their shit together their smv goes up. Women on the other hand go down in smv as they get older so you have to up your game.
