I came to know Sia from Titanium. When I first heard Chandelier in the gym , I thought it was the drinking song ( Chorus goes one , two , three , drink). Today when I heard the song and took a look at the lyrics , I laughed my ass off.

Sia in the song talks about the alcoholic nature of party girls who go to parties to get drunk so that they can have a good time.It is only when they are drunk that they can have a "good time"( poor souls ! can only enjoy time when drunk).After the night is over, they have to do the walk of shame and bare through the day so that can enjoy the process once again.

Although I enjoy Sia , what gets me in this song is that the melancholic voice with which she sings.The voice forces me to inductively deduce that party girls are poor souls.

and there is your rationalization ! Party girls are sad souls.They need to get drunk , fuck someone and ride the chandelier to live their life.
