Personally I don't have anything to hide in my phone, so when my GF says let me see your phone (she's only asked this twice in 3 years), I say sure- go for it. It's like her holding onto my tie or my belt. No difference to me- both of the times she just holds it and turns on music or flips through photos. Not to try and pin me for cheating or anything.

Honestly, if she's asking you're probably already headed to splitsville.

This is one of those ugly combination shit/comfort tests that's hard to navigate. She wants to see if you're masculine enough to not buy into her emotional frame, but she's also setting up a secondary play to demand comfort the instant you prove yourself manly enough to defelct her bullshit. The best path is to alpha the shit up hard enough in the early days of the relationship that she wouldn't think to invade your personal space or privacy.

I tend to just make sure a woman knows I'm a lecherous and menacing monster who's not to be fucked with.

You're obviously in the shit now. Best you can do is maintain frame, keep her off your phone, and be willing to lose her if she pushes the issue and refuses to let it go.
