yes. this shit changed my life. like a complete 180 degree turn around. I can trace it to the day I began meditating. my friends, girls in my life, career success etc.

I may even go as far as to say yoga and meditation helped me more than lifting

The point of the placebo effect is that it has an effect...

I am not sure if it only coincides with meditation but I am more calm in discussions that formerly hit my core. I'd say that's due to meditation.

I never feel sadness or anger for more than 10 minutes.

As someone who has never practiced meditation, and lives stressed out, I would like to start trying mediation. Would any of you mind recommending ways to begin?

After meditating for 10 mins, I gain razor-sharp focus and could do my work for around 1 hour without faltering in concentration.

Been meditating for around 2 months+. 3 times daily.

It's common for meditators to find they develop a little perspective on their mental and emotional processes, which in everyday terms tends to mean you're calmer, petty shit doesn't bother you as much as it normally does, and you can face what you really need to face with more clarity than usual. All big benefits, IMHO. Life still sucks and has its irritations, imperfections and challenges. But the "drama" level gets turned way down.

It's fun to explore different schools and styles but one that a lot of Westerners find pleasing and helpful is Vipassana, aka "mindfulness meditation." Recordings and videos are good, and Google is your friend. But why not see if there's a school or instructor near you? Doing it in the flesh with other people can be a great experience.
