He's bad at his job and he doesn't like it, and he acts like a "dark triad jester" in the sense that he attacks the owners behind their back all the time.

The owners know I'm sure.

One of the women in the office told me he goes out of his way in an attempt to be treated just like me, deeming it "unjust" and "unfair" that I get away with stuff.

Everyone else in the office probably knows that he's trying to play games.

The way I'm reading this situation is that you're an upstanding dude and he's a jealous fucktwit that is a failure. If he was upstanding at his job too, then you might have a problem - but yeah, this will probably just resolve itself.

That, or talk to the owners - they probably know and don't like him. If it's a small company they can't afford any dead weight.

Whenever I see the word exclude I have to jump on my opportunity to explain the basic principal of Esquared. Exclusion = expansion. There have to be winners and there have to be losers. Everyone is a competitor, trying to get access territory they currently don't have. You CANNOT get upset about a person expanding his value into territory you are also trying to expand into. He is beating you if you feel excluded. You need to exploit weaknesses, put yourself out there more to deliberately exclude him.

Get something in writing then file a complaint. A lot of companies, including mine, cannot fire people without a good cause, we implemented that in our contracts so that employees are not running away because they are bound by the good cause clause, as well. So your boss needs a bona fide statement, an insult, bad treatment etc.

The best is if you can convince a woman to file a complaint on her own behalf - keep your hands clean.

just the feeling that he is mocking you (which I totally acknowledge) is not gonna achieve anything.
