Be her hero. Take care of your shit. Don't slack off. Don't be a fucking slob and leave your dirty underwear lying around for her to pick up. Don't start letting her do all the heavy lifting in the relationship. If your mate has a problem, recognize that you have a problem, too, even if you're perfectly happy with the status quo. If there is a problem, address it; don't stonewall or stick your head in the sand and pretend nothing's wrong. You're the leader, remember? But be a rock; don't get sucked into drama. Remain calm. Be trustworthy. You will make mistakes but she'll cut you some slack if she knows you're always trying to do the right thing and act in her and your kids' best interest. Be a man with a plan. Usually people have much more polarized goals though, so I wouldn't worry about if it can be done, I'd worry much more about what you want to do

I've lived with my cousin and his wife for awhile now, and I think what you're hinting toward is pretty much their relationship. He's an Alpha dude, she's a solid girl who pretty much bends over backward for him.

At first, some of the things he did seemed to toe the line to Beta behavior, but after awhile I've come to realize they're just applied comfort. I mean, shit, no matter how fucking Alpha you are if you're a distant ass your woman is going to eventually notice her needs aren't being met and move on. I think the difference is maintaining your own boundaries and expectations, and making it clear that you're giving something because you want to and it makes you feel good, not because you have to.

I've applied this to a lot of my relationships (personal and professional) and it's been awesome.

What Tyler said. I believe they put you in one of two boxes, depending on which side is stronger (to their perception). So I don't believe they can see you as both simultaneously, no.

You're either for sex (can't lock down) or for resources (can lock down).

Again, she will cheat or get bored 2-5yrs in for sure no matter how alpha a man is all it takes is the right guy time and place badboy preferred and its lights off bentover hung to dry no guys safe just keep options and leave her when female nature comes knocking.
