ordinarily, i wouldn't care if a chick says she has a boyfriend--it is all about the way she acts (not what she says).

in this case though from my impression, it depends a bit on how you got her number--the conversation around getting it. i get the feeling, the phone number came with a "lets be friends because i have a boyfriend" feel to it. if it did, then, she's maybe she is just trying to pull you in her orbit. also, since that seems to be your feeling as well, trust your gut.

otherwise, i would need more specifics... with that said, keep gaming chicks and build abundance, and then you wouldn't care about this in the first place.

You spoke with a girl, making your intentions obvious, and she gave you her number, right? The fact that she "has a boyfriend" is irrelevant. (Take note -- every "girlfriend" you've ever had has probably given out her number to an interested guy or three, with the plausible deniability of, "I just thought he wanted to be friends!")

You are right not to have prolonged text conversations with her about your day. At this point, texts are for logistics to set up your next meeting, where you can escalate. You have absolutely nothing to gain from having some kind of casual, friendly, long-distance conversation with her.

You've only tried to set up a meeting once. I'd give her one more opportunity, maybe a week from now (game other girls in the mean-time). If she doesn't respond, responds in the negative and doesn't propose an alternative, or responds positively then flakes later, don't bother with her any more.

The boyfriend thing is just a shit-test. Keep pretending like she didn't even say it. Girls who want to stay faithful to their boyfriends don't give their numbers to guys who hit on them. She may be trying to collect orbiters and validation, but the kind of girl who gives out her number like that is also the kind of girl who will cheat with the right guy under the right circumstances.

I don't know about this one, the fact that she has a boyfriend is always irrelevant, but we don't know the details of how you approached, so she may have given you her number just for orbiting purposes.

I'd say push for a date, make it clear it's a date, and if she shows up, show intent and escalate, then you will know for sure if she wants to make you an orbiter.
