Was reading a psychology report on Self Harming. The majority of girls that do it are the usual low confidence, low self esteem types , usually not very social and struggling with something, whether it be family or not fitting in. They do it and then feel ashamed, but enjoy the release, and try very hard to hide it.

Then you have a second type, the popular or more social girls, they do it for the attention and they bring attention to it, usually through social media or will be very upfront about it.
