I've been lurking and participating in TRP for about 8 months now. I have lost weight, hit the gym, improved my posture and my clothing has improved.

Two weeks ago I saw the girl that came before TRP. I was beta and she pretty much was giving me all the signals. I cringe hard when I think about it. I was so beta that when we went out one night with my friends, she asked to stay over because she was too drunk. She jumped into my bed and I told her I would sleep on the couch. Fuck me.

Anyway, hadn't seen her since last September. When I had made my move. She rejected me of course. I had proved I was too beta. I found TRP and a couple of weeks later she texts me pretty much asking for validation. I ignore. At the time I was hoping she would persist. As you all can guess, she didn't. As i applied TRP philosophy to my life, I completely forgot about her.

As previously mentioned, I saw her 2 weeks ago. It was brief but she saw the changes I had made. She proceeds to text me and compliment me on my changes. Call me cynical but I knew she wanted something. So for two weeks she texts me. I follow the 2/3rds rule (it was more like 1/8 honestly). I pass shit tests. She baits me to ask her to meet. I dodge.

Saturday morning I wake up after a good Friday night to a text that asks me if she can ask me a favor. It's been 4 days since her last text. I had nearly forgotten about her again. I answer with "What?". Her: "Are you busy next Saturday". Me: "Yes." Her: "Oh well... I was going to a wedding next Saturday and I was gonna ask if you could be my date but if you're busy then never mind. I didn't ask early enough." Me: "Yeah I stay busy. Some other time perhaps".

I was tempted to apologize for not having a free schedule. Honestly, my options for next week are to go to the beach with some buds or go home for mothers day. Both are easily canceled. Beta me might have. Current me thought about it but didn't.

What really stood out was that she asked for a favor first. Is this the Almighty Hamster setting up plausible deniability? If it's a favor, no big deal if I say no right, regardless if she did want me to be her "date"? Or does that mean she still sees me as a "friend". Besides only 1 week of head time for a wedding leads me to believe either I wasn't the first choice. Anyway, some opinions would be appreciated.
