My wife is abroad, and internet was not working at her home. Usually, when I wake up, I message her or call her. If I don't call her, she usually calls me at around 7.30 to wake me up in case I was sleeping.

I swallowed the RP a couple of days ago, and felt like I was being a beta by calling her first thing in the morning (not sure if I'm right or wrong. I'm still getting the hang of RP. As a nice guy trying to be not a nice guy, I some times go overboard). So today, when I woke up, I saw some messages she sent me during the night. I thought the internet started working for her, and sent her a good morning message and went about my way. I was thinking that I'll give her a call after breakfast.

During breakfast (around 7.30), she called me. I called her back, and she asked me why I didn't call her. I told her 'nothing like I didn't want to call you', and changed the topic. She got upset (I could see from the way she responded), and asked told me that she had come running to the phone because she didn't get my phone and thought I was still sleeping, and asked me why I didn't have the courtesy to let her know if I woke up. I told her, some days I feel like calling her immediately after waking up, and somedays I just feel like messaging her and call later. I don't want to call her just because she will get upset.

She said I've been acting very adamant and dominating her these days, while she has been trying to let me do things as I want. If I continue acting this way, she will never give me peace, and one year later, I would still be sending her messages like sent her a few days ago. I stood my ground and said I can call only when I feel like it, and not because she will get upset if I don't. She hung up.

She called me immediately after, but i didn't pick up. Instead, I went about my ways of getting ready for work. After 3 calls, I picked up. She asked me why I didn't pick up. I told her I'm getting ready for work. She asked me if I didn't hear the calls, and I said I did. She hung up. I called her back (stupid, I know), and asked her why she had called. She told me she wanted some information about something, so I gave her that information, and cut the call.

After that, she again tried calling me for 3-4 times, but I didn't pick up. Then I called her again on my way to work, and this time, she was submissive. She told me the same thing, and that she was worried only that I was not awake. Since I always called her in the morning, she thought I would call her. She said it is ok that I call her only when i feel like it. She'll also here after not call me to wake me up. She'll only call when she feels like talking to me. I said fine. Then she told me how frustrating it is to not have internet, while it is raining outside so she can't go anywhere. I told her I'll top up her mobile data, and disconnected the call.

Now I feel bad. I feel that I have somehow gone overboard with my non-nice-guy behavior. Please tell me what things I did right and wrong, so I can better understand and correct myself. Thanks!
