It's a common shit test or a compliment, depending on how you react.

A good response is to give her your best James Bond grin and say something like: "Ya I'm terrible. Aren't you gonna save me? From myself."

From then on the convo can go into the familiar riverbed of how exactly you like to be "saved". From yourself, and Rosie Palms.

Main thing, never take this or anything else a woman says seriously & at face value. You do that, it's done, you killed the whole flirty game of hers dead, man. Or from another perspective, you helped her weed you out - it was basically "beta bait", seeing if you'll take it revealing yourself as a pretender or can maintain that aloof frame, giving her more tingles than before.

Once you get offended or butthurt or tongue tied, you lost. She's practically begging you to pick her up. To throw your best game at her and show her what you're made of. Never be surprised or take too seriously anything a woman says to you.

Have fun with it. Not every line has to be gold, but it does have to show that nothing gets under your skin.

As /u/SkorchZang said, don't take anything she says seriously and at face value.

Another good response is kino + "That's cool, I'm not looking for anything serious either."

i.e. misinterpret her statement to have the opposite meaning.. Classic reframe. If she is attracted then you will have smashed that test and escalated at the same time.

Seems like a shit test, you should have disarmed it with some humour and maybe turned it back on her. e.g 'And you wear yellow cardigans, I cant take you seriously either..'

Also how the hell did you give off the impression that you pick up girls to a girl you're dating. Maybe you're coming off a little too arrogant and not relaxed, maybe your body language isnt congruent with your words. But I think most likely you're over-analysing, the key word she said was 'imagine', not a fixed belief, and not really a major concern.

It seems like she was being intimidated by your aloofness and decided to try to chip away at you. I would have responded saying "It's okay that your having trouble articulating how attracted you are to me." If she's going to attempt to say something as rash as that it should be met with something similarly hard.
